Dwayne Cranford's Bio
As a child Dwayne spent hours cutting and shaping pieces of cardboard paper to create 3D models of motorcycles. Carefully forming each part to fit the bike perfectly and create a replica of an authentic motorcycle. Dwayne's artist talents emerged at a very young age. A self taught artist Dwayne S. Cranford, a Colorado native learned his welding kills in a foundry and took them with him to serve in the United States Army. Later Dwayne spent his days installing natural gas pipeline. On his days off as a hobby he began applying his welding skills to create steel sculptures. His figurative sculptures are created from materials such as bike chains, concrete nails and scrap steel that had been discarded. He recently began combining stone with the metal to create durable, weatherproof furniture. Cranford’s work has been shown around Colorado, Nevada, California, Texas, Wyoming and in other parts of the United States. It can be found at The Inn At Aspen, Aspen (CO), The Best Western Pioneer Court, Lusk (WY) and numerous private collections. Artist Statement My rock chairs have been compared to something found on the set of the Flintstones, but great care is given to ensure they are both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. Spring is in the Air!
Springtime is just around the corner. Do you know where your outdoor furniture is?

How to Move Stone Furniture
Your order just arrived and it's sitting in your yard. The FedEx truck just left and you have this huge pallet wrapped tight enough to drop from an airplane. So what do you do?
Well the great thing is that there is NO assembly! It's ready to use!
The only problem is that you have to get it where you want it. Just one time because it does not need to be brought in from the weather or moved to storage - EVER.
Stone furniture is great for so many reasons, but not easy to move.
Don't worry it's not as difficult as it seems, there are several options available.
1) The first is to invite a couple of friends over and reward them with pizza and beer. This way you don't need any equipment to move this stuff. A single chair weighs in around 180 lbs. So 2 guys, one on each side can lift it and carry it together. We suggest grabbing the chair by the steel frame and NOT by the arm rocks, because they are on there good, but its kind of like picking up your dog by the ear.
2) The other idea is a dolly. We move everything with a dolly.
3) Hire the guys at Labor Ready. Two will do!
4) We also offer a "White Glove Service" this is more expensive, but an option. The guys with FedEx will move your furniture to its location and dispose of all packaging.
To unpack your furniture, all you have to do is remove the shrink wrap and break the boards securing the furniture to the pallet. You can use a crowbar or hammer for this, and its ready to move!
Keepin' the West Wild: Horse Preservation
November 10, 2010 Dwayne was invited to learn more about the preservation of the Wild Mustang at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.
At the presentation emmy award film maker Ginger Kathrens tells her story of Cloud, a 16 year-long documentary in Wyoming, where she researched wild horse behavior.
